I had read the reviews on this product but I was not convinced. It was just to pretty and to easy to use to think it really was a lemon,

how wrong I was. The food never got done.I was so disapointed! And yes the top has a gap,the bowl is so big until it is scary to clean.

to big for the dish washer. And another disapointment is to pay to ship a bad product back.YOU LOSE(TWICE)I will not purshase cuisinart

products on line again.Never a slow cooker.(BUYER BEWARE) don't learn the hard way like I did It may cost you more then you think!

"Over priced and Poorly Engineered!" 2009-10-04
By W. Keszler (Clarks Grove, MN)
I read many reviews before deciding to buy the "Cuisinart PSC-650 6.5 Quart Programmable Slow Cooker", in brushed stainless steel. I noticed right after purchase in 2008, that the cheaply made "stainless" steel exterior stained from finger oils when you touch it. These staines were permanent. The steel bowl underneath the crock pot was not of good quality. After the first use, the ceramic crock was washed, dried and returned to the base. I removed the crock before the next use, and saw that the bowl underneath had rusted. To make matters worse, the unit would not power up after 6 uses. I took it apart to find a cheap piece of rolled tin supporting the crock, and two small pieces of insulation. The electronic components were not sufficiently protected against the heat emitted from the unit while in use. Using this crock pot burns out its electrical components! In my opinion, this crock pot should not have been priced at more than $30.

My friend also bought this unit, at the same time. She said if the power goes out, and comes back on, the unit does not turn back on. Since we were both infrequent crock pot users, the warranty had expired when both units quit working. These are now in the land fill.

On the otherhand, if you only want to use the crock pot a few times, it has some great features.

"Qc not what it shoud be" 2009-03-11
By Joseph Corizzo
Bought one ,It did not work, The internal temp setting were off 40 degrees. (Low) so it would not cook prepared dishes. So we returned it to Cuisinart They sent a new one We are using it today to see if it works. The new one cost us $ 10 in shipping and we had to return the malfuctioning one $ 22.00 Total $ 32.00 If we did not return the bad one our warranty would be taken away. This is through no fault of ours Interesting way to do business. Thats 30% of the purchase price. Can't wait to by a cuisinart again

 "SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK!!!" 2009-03-10
By Hande A. Hammett (new york, ny)
The lid does not fit, most often the steam goes out which kills the whole purpose of a slow cooker. Only the first two times, the meat was really tender and cooked slowly. After that, it started cooking up the whole thing in an hour, very hard and dry. Same meat, same sauce, and the lowest setting, still doesn't work. Such a big waste of money and counter space.

 "I like it alot" 2008-11-04
By M. Hill (Austin, TX)
We bought this because every item we own that has the Cuisinart brand name attached to it has been wonderful. This product did not dissapoint.

Easy set up. Easy to use. Easy to clean. Tons of space (especially for those who like to generate leftovers). I also like how the outside does not get as hot as some crockpots. It makes it easier to transport.

Extra props for the cord storage system.
