 "What a waste of $$" 2009-10-12
By Dog Mom (Pacific Northwest)
Got one - after a couple uses, a can dropped off and ruined my shirt (of course, it was a can of beets) Returned it-actually exchanged it for the same. Thought I just got a lemon. the second one was even worse than the first. Same thing -did not hold the can as promised and tonight a little black thing fell off and it won't work at all. I have a house full of Cuisinart products which have served me well. I wish I had kept my old and much less expensive Black & Decker. It never failed but I just wanted more Cuisinart. I will never buy a Cuisinart can opener again.

 "Piece of Junk" 2009-10-07

I got this as a gift. It has never worked properly. I have tried to use it for almost a year now. It refuses to open cans without all kinds of adjusting and repeated attempts. I now use my manual can opener. Do not buy a Cuisinart can opener. It is a quality name on a Piece of Junk.

 "GARBAGE!" 2009-10-06
By Tim Ambler (Nashville, TN USA)
This "can opener" is a complete piece of garbage. Please do yourself a favor and believe all of the terrible reviews that you'll find listed on this site. This was an expensive product, as can openers go, and it broke within days of taking it out of the box. Cuisinart refuses to fix it without charging me for both the cost of having them ship me a new one, as well as the cost of shipping them the broken one.

To be honest, having seen all of the other terrible reviews of this product listed here, I'm surprised there hasn't been some sort of class action lawsuit created over this thing.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. PIECE OF JUNK!!!

 "Engineered by a moron" 2009-09-18
By D. Adelson
[...] A beautiful look is marred by the final engineered design of someone at a third grade engineering level. That's even an insult to most third graders, because they would know enough to try it out to see if it works! We tried maybe 10 different cans, and NOT ONE OF THEM OPENED PROPERLY!! Half of these efforts produced a counter top mess, and the other half produced partially opened lids ready to slice deeply into a delicate finger bone...or worse! Seriously, if you told me the final product was the result of someone who had ZERO experience in this type of thing, I could believe this story. Or, maybe the result of someone playing a bad joke on Cuisinart.

After Cuisinart figures out who was responsible, they need to then solve their problems with quality control.

Caution...avoid like the plague!

"Cuisinart - Worst Electric Can Opener EVER!" 2009-09-08
By Debra B. (TN)
Don't be fooled by the Cuisinart name or the appealing look of this product. As others have said, it is an expensive piece of junk! We have fought with it for several months now; my husband can fix about anything, but he can't keep this thing working. The problem is that it will not hold the can in place; it makes no difference the size of can, from a 6 oz can of tuna to a 32 oz can of tomatoes, it doesn't hold the can securely in place. It's a battle to try and hold the can up tight enough for the blade to cut around the can, with it constantly slipping off the clamp. I have cut my thumb more than once, pushing up on the can to get it to clamp, while it repeatedly slips off so that it can't maintain a steady cut! I am throwing this in the trash and picking up a hand-held can opener - at least I know it will work as long as I'm able to crank it - and I can put it in the dishwasher to clean.
